Microsoft Document Connection run on Mac OS enables you to upload document from your Mac computer to a SharePoint document library quickly with some basic steps. On the screen that comes up, you can safely click Install or you can click on the Advanced link. That link will allow you to select the 64-bit version of Office. This can only be installed on a 64-bit Windows installation. It would only benefit you if you use Access or Excel with big datasets or databases.
If you scroll down the page, you will have the option to install Office 2010. I would recommend sticking with Office 2013.
Once you pick your poison, you will have a popup asking you to save the install file. Go ahead and do so.
Open the file (it should be a quick download). Follow the prompts to install Office. There are no configurable options, so once you are done, you are actually finished installing Office. It will automatically be activated and linked to your netID.
